New Moon in Taurus: Slow Down & Smell the Roses

Today is the new moon in Taurus (as I write this post), and it’s time to take a breather and ground your energies. At least that is what my intuition is telling me, and that is what the energies of Taurus is all about, too. Coincidence? I don’t think so, but I’ll let you be the judge… Although this need to slow down and nurture myself already made itself known a couple of days ago, with Jupiter moving into Taurus and expanding all things Taurean. Taurus is all about pleasure, grounding and connecting to the earth, and being ruled by Venus it’s about connecting to the feminine aspect, and about love and money, too.

More than anything I feel that Taurus represents stability by allowing the earth to provide for you, finding a sense of security that money can provide, but also enjoying life and the simple pleasures. In fact, I think that is often how we can bring in more abundance into our lives, by letting go of stress and the need to do do do all the time. By slowing down and taking notice of the beauty around us, especially the beauty of nature, and giving ourselves love and respite in that way, is one important fundamental step for being able to bring in more prosperity and stability into our lives. So to be able to ground that stabilizing energy of Taurus, I have been feeling called to slow down, go inwards and connect with nature, allowing its healing vibrations to calm and reconnect me to my inner being. After the intense Eclipse portal and energies that we just came out of, it feels like just what the doctor ordered.

This Eclipse portal felt particularly intense for me, and I felt more emotional than I have in a while. I was definitely clearing quite a bit, mostly what felt like old grief: stuff that was connected with my twin flame, but also older stuff. I still feel a bit vulnerable and unsteady emotionally, so this weekend I have decided to spend a lot of time in nature, soak up some sun, take a walk along the beach and journal. I will spend some time to myself, and just nurture myself, body and mind, something that I feel is much needed and I’m very much looking forward to. Actually, my slowing down already began yesterday, when I went to the spa with a friend. It was a beautiful bath and spa, built on a natural spring, down in the charming town of Larvik. I’ve been neither to that spa or to Larvik before, but I was equally charmed by both. The spa (and the town) was set right on the Oslo Fjord, and the spa had beautiful views of the fjord, that contributed even more to its healing and relaxing vibrations. Such a beautiful way to unwind and let go of stress!

I’m coming off a cold at the moment too, which I also caught in the middle of that intense Eclipse portal. Since I don’t believe in coincidences and that everything is related, I think this cold was another way for my body to ask me to slow down, but I also think it deepened my process of releasing and clearing old wounding and trauma. Although I don’t believe that negative emotions, illness and disease is something to seek out, I still believe that it has its place in our world of duality, as a teacher and instigator of growth. In order to know and appreciate wellness and joy, we need to experience its opposite. The dark and negative has a place in our evolution and ascension in that way, and it’s only when we integrate it, that we can truly know ourselves and our place in the world, in my experience.

Slowing down and going inwards is also a great way to reconnect with our inner guidance and feel into what we truly need. When we can give ourselves permission to just be, and take some time out from life’s stressors and demands on us (as much as we’re able anyway), that’s when we can take stock a little bit, check and see if we feel we’re on the right track with our lives, and if not, feel into what changes we need to make in order to live the life we want and dream of. It’s so important, I dare say vital, for us all to start to follow our intuition and inner guidance more, as it’s the only way we’re going to be able to find true stability and lasting satisfaction in our lives. The way our society is built, it has a way of distracting us from what is really important, and we end up just going through the motions, stressing and worrying about how to get from point A to point B, and the deeper questions of where we want to go and what we really want to do with our lives get lost in the process.

It’s natural and expected that we get caught up in life’s little dramas and annoyances from time to time. There is an ebb and flow to life and everything has its time and its season. There is a time to jump in and get things done, work through problems and deal with difficulties, and there’s a time for slowing down and shifting gears a little, to make sure we’re moving in the right direction. I dare say that now is a good time, with this new moon in Taurus (but also at other times of course), and if you feel called to, to stop and smell the roses a little bit. Slow down, ease up and let your intuition guide the next few days, as much as you’re able, to reconnect to your soul, to nature and to who you truly are and want to be. You will thank yourself for the time-out and rebalancing that it offers.

So with that I wish you a beautiful New Moon in Taurus, and as always sending you much love & light!
