We’re in the first week of 2023, and for once I’m at home while I’m writing this new post. It’s not particularly tempting to go outside today, as it’s snowing heavily, windy and cold, so instead I’m snuggled up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of tea. But it’s winter here in Oslo, Norway, so this kind of weather is to be expected, and I don’t mind. I love the snow and the winter season, but sometimes it’s nice to just stay warm and cozy inside. We’re also in Mercury and Mars retrograde at the moment, plus it’s the full moon in Cancer today. And I just got my period. So all of this is more conducive to a a quiet day at home, at least in my book, so slowing down and embracing a more reflective and contemplative side of myself for a few days is just fine by me.
As we shifted into the new year, I felt a marked shift in energy. I sensed the same last year too, that we shifted into a lighter energy, and this year the energy became even lighter, I feel. And although it may not necessarily seem like things are getting better with all that’s been happening in recent years, and continue to happen out there in the world, I still believe we’re heading in the right direction, it just takes a little time for the physical to catch up with the energies. And in order to align with the higher energies we also need to clear out some gunk, both personally and the world in general, so I believe that is what we’re seeing out there. The dark and dysfunctional stuff is rising to the surface to be dealt with, and that is a good thing, ultimately, yet can be challenging, of course.
Speaking of clearing out gunk, as we’ve been approaching the full moon I’ve been feeling a little out of sorts the last couple of days, a little low on energy and slightly emotional. Although that may also be linked to the aforementioned period approaching, I believe it has to do with the full moon as well, especially since this full moon is in Cancer, the moon’s own sign, and also perhaps the most sensitive out of all the signs. It’s related to our emotions, but also the home and hearth, so going inwards and releasing some pent up emotions is the name of the game. So slowing down, staying home and taking care of myself seems like just what the doctor ordered, and I’m totally aligned with that.
Generally speaking though, over the recent month especially, I’ve been feeling more and more energized and excited about life, so it’s clear that I’m starting to get to a much better place in my journey. Yet, there are still some things needing to be cleared, and I’ve been feeling into those with the full moon. Nevertheless, I’m excited about the future, the new year and what it might bring. And since it’s that time of year, I’ve taken some time this week to reflect on the year that’s been, as well as been thinking a bit about what I’d like to create in this new year. This is something I like to do either towards the end of the year, or at the beginning of the new year every year. This time, I felt the energy was ripe for it this week, so yesterday I sat down and journaled a bit about all of that, and then ended up creating a digital vision board for 2023, with photos and intentions of what I want to manifest, which was quite exciting!
I don’t know if you’ve ever created a vision board before, but it can be quite fun, and I believe that they can be helpful in assisting us to manifest our wishes and dreams. We can, of course, create one any time of year, whenever we feel called to, but the new year tends to be a time when we set intentions, welcome in the new, and perhaps create resolutions for the new year, so it’s a great time to do it now. You can create a physical one, where you get a big piece of cardboard, or a cork board, then print or cut out photos from magazines etc. and place them on the board. I have made those before and they are great, but they can be quite a bit of work, and take some preparation. Then it’s much easier and faster to make a digital vision board. There are many apps that allow you to create one quite easily, where you can upload photos, make little tags and notes and stick them to the board. I did it this way this time, and it worked well, and I was very happy with the result.
Once you have created your vision board, it’s important to look at it regularly, so that you can be reminded and excited about the things you want to call in. So you can either print it out (if you don’t make a physical one) and hang it up somewhere in your house where you can see it often, or you can upload it as a background on your phone, or keep it some other place where you can see it easily. Another thing you could do to accompany your vision board making, is to set aside some time and meditate, where you visualize yourself doing or having all the things that you put up on your vision board. Make sure you really feel into it and make it as vivid as possible. The more you do this, the more energy you give to your manifestation, and the more likely you are to make it happen. I hope you try it out for yourself, as I’m sure you won’t regret it!
So with this I wish you a beautiful, peaceful, Happy New Year for 2023, filled with joy, love, laughter and all the magical things you could wish for!
